This week I’ve been trawling through what is know as the world wide web, finding hints and tips to keep my SEO knowledge up to date and abreast of what our other SEO bloggers have got to say for themselves. I thought I would share with  you what has come in handy for me. Some of the below is for entrainment  purposes, if you do try them at home, let me know how you get on.

Optimising Video

Video is becoming increasingly popular for companies to help exposure of their products and services and with so much content on the web these days video can help you stand out more. With that, video is becoming part of or should be part of your SEO campaign. It is important to optimise your videos as best as possible, so when someone happens to search for some info on...erm I don’t know.. sneezing bears for example, your video on sneezing bears should appear top (one of my favourite videos of the moment any excuse to share)                                                                                                                         Anywayz… I found this blog post very informative 'Optimise your YouTube Channel' . It gives you 10 simple tips on the best way to optimise your youtube videos and you don’t need to be techy to get these done.

Optimising
PDFs

When creating your website you want to be seen as the authority in your industry, this means providing the user with interesting content. Many companies have much of their content offline still as they think its too much hassle to convert it all into HTML. The good news is, for those of you who don’t know, Google can crawl PDF documents. This means, if its crawlable by Google there are ways to optimise. Search Engine Land have a great blog post providing your with tips on optimising PDFs for the web here. It’s actually very similar in optimising a webpage.
